Atlantic City is known for having an array of restaurants with celebrity chefs at the helm, but one new addition is sure to excite sushi lovers.
Nobu Atlantic City, located at Caesars Atlantic City, is the latest location of the legendary sushi spot created by Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper. This is Nobu’s first location in the greater Philadelphia region, and it’s the first step of even more to come in the region. Coming soon is also a Nobu Hotel, which will be opening within Caesars in Spring 2023.
Set against the legendary Atlantic City beach and boardwalk as a backdrop, this spot will have some familiar Nobu touches, from the sushi bar on full display to signature cocktails and dishes Chef Nobu Matsuhisa is known for, such as Black Cod Miso and Nobu’s famous crispy rice.
“We partnered with Caesars almost 10 years ago to open our first Nobu Hotel in Las Vegas. We’ve had such an amazing and successful partnership, that it was only natural to say yes to expanding with them into Atlantic City,” said Chef Nobu Matsuhisa in an interview with Forbes. “I was also very excited to bring Nobu to Atlantic City because it attracts millions of visitors each year. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States. People come here for good food and entertainment and that is what we hope to provide.”
There’s some exciting scenery that comes with this east coast location. “Nobu Atlantic City is the only Northeast location with an ocean view. Our floor-to-ceiling windows provide a spectacular sight and the perfect setting for guests to enjoy their favorite Nobu dishes and cocktails,” says Chef Nobu.
The backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean has also had a delicious impact on the menu. “One of the best things about being so close to the ocean is access to a good selection of fresh fish,” says Chef Nobu. “This allows us to incorporate some of the seasonal fish found off the waters of New Jersey into our menu, like the Big Eye tuna found in September, fluke in the summer and a local Tilefish or Amadai that we serve with a savory black bean miso sauce,” says Chef Nobu. Exclusive to Atlantic City is also the Boardwalk Cooler, a cocktail made with Ford’s Gin, St. Germain and fresh cucumber juice.
Of course, many of those who go to Nobu do so with some specific signature favorites in mine. “Our Yellowtail Jalapeno, Toro Tartare with Caviar, Rock Shrimp Tempura with Creamy Spicy sauce, and of course the Black Cod with Miso are a few of our signature dishes,” says Chef Nobu. “I created these dishes almost 30 years ago, and I am very proud to know that they are still guests’ favorites around the world. The Matsuhisa Martini and the Lychee Martini are two of our most popular cocktails. Both crisp and refreshing,” says Chef Nobu.
There’s a lot different about this new hotspot, but there’s one thing that Chef Nobu hopes remains the same. “For me, providing the best quality ingredients and good service in a beautiful setting is the only Atlantic City dining experience I want for my guests,” says Chef Nobu.
