World Of Warcraft Is Free To Play Until 20 November

For better or worse, World of Warcraft is still among the most popular MMORPG titles out there, despite its subscription model. The game offers a sort of free trial, which allows you to play the game until your character reaches level 20. But for this weekend, Blizzard Entertainment is letting non-subscribers play for free.

This means getting to experience everything the game has to offer, assuming you can make it that far in such a short period of time. That being said, it’s worth noting that this doesn’t apply to World of Warcraft Classic. But besides that, this is your chance to take any character to beyond level 20, and maybe experience the game beyond just the surface, and then decide if it’s worth paying the subscription fee for.

Or if you’ve never experienced World of Warcraft before, this is also a pretty good chance to try what Blizzard is calling the new starting experience. To avoid going into details, this is essentially this game’s version of making the new player experience more newbie friendly. If you’ve played your fair share of MMOs from back in the day, you’ll know that they were not the easiest thing to dive into, especially without guides, be it from the internet or another player who is already familiar.

If you’re wondering why is Blizzard opening up its cash cow to the non-paying members of the public, the answer is simple. This is in light of the upcoming Dragonflight expansion, which is set to be released on 28 November. Chances are the company wants to entice more people into paying for the World of Warcraft monthly subscription, and then buying the expansion when it comes out next week.

For the exact date, World of Warcraft is free to play until 20 November. Though this will likely stretch into the next day when taking timezones into consideration.
