WORLD snooker champion Luca Brecel has revealed he went partying with his girlfriend the day before beating Ronnie O’Sullivan.
The Belgian won an incredible seven frames in a row to defeat the seven-time winner 13-10 in the quarter-final.
He went on to beat Si Jiahui in the last four before pipping Mark Selby to the title at the Crucible.
But prior to his famous win over O’Sullivan, Brecel spent the night partying.
The 28-year-old uploaded a snap of himself with girlfriend Laura Vanoverberghe on Instagram.
He captioned the image: “Party in Belgium, the day before my quarter-final against Ronnie.”
Brecel previously opened up on his love of a night out despite his Crucible appearance, saying: “Before the tournament I was just out partying, staying up late to 6am and 7am.
“Playing FIFA with my friends. Having drinks. Not practising.
“Even after I beat Mark Williams, I went home. I got home at 7am by the car. That same day we went out to 5-6am. Drunk as hell.
“The next day I had to come back here. I drove up again, It’s totally different preparation but it is working.”
