Many Britons dream of moving abroad but choosing the right country to settle in can be a challenge.
According to research from the expat experts at William Russell, the friendliest country in the world could be a great choice.
Australia was ranked the world’s friendliest country with “enviable weather” and “endless beaches” for expats to enjoy.
The country’s warm climate also makes it easy for expats to lead an active lifestyle whether that’s in the countryside or at the beach.
But another leading destination for British expats also made the top five, which could leave Britons spoilt for choice.
Australia topped the rankings as the world’s friendliest country for British expats and could make an excellent choice for Britons looking to escape the UK.
A William Russell spokesperson said: “With enviable weather, endless beaches and that famous laid-back Aussie lifestyle, it’s no wonder the land down under takes the top spot for friendliest country.”
Australia is also home to the world’s friendliest city, Melbourne, and the country has a growing foreign community of expats and digital nomads.
Britons looking to resettle a little closer to home, might prefer the second country on the list, Spain.
Spanish culture centres around friendships and family which means there’s a great sense of community.
Spain’s working culture is also more relaxed than the UK’s in general, making it the perfect destination to achieve a better work-life balance.
