Pluto was saved from a Romanian kill shelter at just four days old and ‘will end his life in the centre if no one steps in’

The world’s most unwanted dog has spent 11 years in a Romanian rescue centre and is still searching for a place to call home.
“Sweet” boy Pluto was saved from a kill shelter at just four days old, after his mum and siblings were adopted.
Pluto is Nobody Dog’s longest resident and the “friendly” doggo has never stepped foot outside of the rescue centre’s ranch.
And now, the manager of the centre says he will die there is nobody steps in to help.
Pluto loves to be around other dogs, cats and children, and would thrive with an active family in a rural area.

Alena Stan runs Nobody Rescue in Romania and works with the UK organisation, Bridging The Gap Rescue, to unite stray dogs from kill shelters with families across Europe.
“He will end his life in the centre if no one steps in and shows him the world,” Alena said.
“I’ve had Pluto since he was four days old.
“He was born in a public kill shelter with his mum and four siblings in December 2010.
“His mum and three siblings were adopted, and Pluto and his brother Dino were left behind.”
Sadly, Dino recently passed away – so Pluto is the last one left.

Pluto is Alena’s longest resident at Nobody Dogs rescue centre and “the sweetest boy”.
“The kennels and shelter is all he’s ever known,” she explained.
“He has never left the ranch in the woods.”
Alena describes Pluto’s personality as “very friendly and active”.
“You wouldn’t know he is a senior dog,” she said.
Pluto has never shown any signs of aggression, and gets on well with other dogs, cats and children.
He walks well on a lead and “would love to live with a family and kids in a rural space”.

He has “never heard any city sounds” before or seen a television, so would need time and patience to adapt.
Pluto has spent 11 years trying to find a place to call home, which has been a struggle for Alena.
“We are a very small organisation and it’s difficult to adopt dogs in Romania. People don’t look at private centres,” she explained.
While Pluto has lived a long and happy life so far at the rescue, it would be amazing for him to experience the rest of the world and find a permanent family.
