WrestleMania 39: New World Championship belt to be introduced around WWE PLE

This is the only top world championship belt present in the WWE rather than having two separate champions on the two main roster shows – Raw and Smackdown. The lackluster situation is likely to be wiped out, around WrestleMania 39.

According to WrestleVotes, a new WWE World Championship Title belt has been created and it’s on the verge of going public since WWE Officials have approved the same. It could debut anytime now, possibly just after WrestleMania 39.

“There’s a new belt. I don’t know for sure if it’s getting a new name. I don’t know if one of the titles is going away, but there’s a new belt that WWE has had made and the decision-makers have approved. Like, if they wanted to introduce it on TV tomorrow, they could. Those boxes are checked.”

WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns defeated the WWE Champion Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 38 Night Two to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion by unifying the two top world titles.

This is a move that’s considered to be the final and biggest blunder made by the former head of the WWE creative team, Vince McMahon since he never had any follow-up plans with these two belts.

Then it was recently reported that the current WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H is planning to split the Undisputed Title and have two Men’s World Champions (one for each brand – RAW & SmackDown) again by SummerSlam 2023.

The latest reports suggest that we may not have to wait until the biggest event of the summer to get two world titles on the main roster. Triple H is ecstatic about rectifying the final blunder made by his father-in-law and it’s slated to happen, sooner than later.

Also, with the WWE Draft approaching closer it only makes sense that Raw and Smackdown should have their own world title belts. While nothing is confirmed, the 2023 edition of Draft is scheduled for early May around the Backlash premium live event.

According to BeltFanDan, who has broken several news stories about WWE’s belts, the traditional World Heavyweight Championship was pitched as the replacement for the Universal Championship, last year.

“I heard the Big Gold was pitched as Universal replacement + Vince wanted a new unified belt for WrestleMania 40.”

Triple H was said to be in favor of this ‘Big Gold Belt’ (being the first holder of the belt in WWE in 2001) as he doesn’t like the Universal Championship belt introduced in 2016. We have to wait for one more week to see whether this belt eventually gets retired.
