In the co-main-event of WrestleMania 39 Saturday, on April 1 of this year, Charlotte Flair lost the SmackDown Women’s Championship to the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble winner Rhea Ripley and expectedly went into a hiatus.

Some of the fans and wrestling critics called this bygone match the best women’s match in WWE history which deserved to be the main event of WrestleMania 39 Saturday. Flair was also upset about not getting the main-event spotlight.

WWE now has plans to make it up for The Queen at next year’s Show of Shows. According to the reports of Xero News, the company’s creative team is currently planning to do Charlotte Flair vs. Bianca Belair for WrestleMania 40 in April 2024.

Given both these names belong to Smackdown, this match should be contested for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. However, Bianca is still holding the Raw Women’s Title despite getting drafted to the blue brand.

Bianca has held the red brand title for over 400 days, which makes her the longest-reigning Women’s Champion of the modern era. On the other hand, Flair is a 14-time Women’s Champion who held both Raw & Smackdown Women’s Titles more than anybody in WWE history.

At this point, Bianca is scheduled to defend her title against Asuka in a WrestleMania 39 rematch at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia, this Saturday. Flair is still out of action but she’s being advertised to return by SummerSlam 2023 in August.

In another match discussed for WrestleMania 40, WRKD Wrestling has reported that WWE is interested in doing Cody Rhodes vs. GUNTHER for Night One main-event spot. WWE World Heavyweight Championship should be on the line in this match.

As recently reported by PWInsider, Cody is the internally listed number-one babyface figure on the men’s side on Raw. At the same time, GUNTHER is the number-one heel that automatically sets up an angle to be told at the biggest stage of WrestleMania 40.

Plus, they do share a backstory as Cody (seed no.30) and GUNTHER (seed no.1) were the last two men in the Men’s Royal Rumble 2023 match. Cody eventually eliminated GUNTHER to win and cement his main event match at WrestleMania 39.

WWE’s pop-culture extravaganza, WrestleMania 40 will take place on Saturday, April 6, and Sunday, April 7, 2024, at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Any superstar or match is yet to be officially booked for the WWE Premium Live Event.
