In the first qualifier on Raw during the May 29 episode, Ricochet defeated The Miz to become the first participant in the 2023 Money in the Bank ladder match. He pinned the former two-time MITB contract winner with a Shooting Star Press finisher.

In the second qualifier, Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Bronson Reed to cement his spot in the opportunistic ladder match. Nakamura connected with his pendant Kinshasa finisher to get the pin-fall win over the gigantic superstar.

In the 2023 Money in the Bank Ladder matches six participants will be entering the fray, meaning four more names will have their entries in the near future. However, the next qualifying match from the Raw men’s side is yet to be announced.

Next week on Raw, two qualifying matches for the Women’s Money in the Bank 2023 Ladder Match will go down with the lineups standing as follows – Becky Lynch vs. Sonya Deville and Natalya vs. Zoey Stark.

Plus, this Friday night on Smackdown, a Men’s qualifying match has been scheduled between former tag team champion Montez Ford and LA Knight. The winner will be the first participant from the blue brand side into the MITB fray.

Similarly, a women’s division qualifier will also take place on the June 2 episode of Smackdown when Zelina Vega and Lacey Evans go head-to-head. The winner will be the first to enter the 2023 women’s MITB mix.

More news around Money in the Bank coming out of Raw is that the future winner can still cash in his contract on a mid-card championship much like the 2022 winner Theory who exercised it over the United States Title.

In a backstage interview with Cathy Kelley on Raw, Matt Riddle said he plans on winning the Men’s Money In The Bank 2023 Ladder Match and then cashing in on either of the world champions in WWE.

Riddle obviously pointed out on going after either Roman Reigns (for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship) or Seth Rollins (for the World Heavyweight Championship) when he wins the Money in the Bank contract.

Gunther interrupted and provoked Riddle to rather cash in the contract on him for the Intercontinental Championship if he wins, essentially confirming the MITB contract is still applicable to WWE’s mid-card titles.

As mentioned above, last year’s Men’s MITB ladder match winner Theory cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on the then United States Champion Seth Rollins but failed to win due to Bobby Lashley’s interferences.

The 2023 WWE Money in the Bank Premium Live Event takes place Saturday, July 1, at the O2 Arena in London, England. The currently confirmed match card for the PLE following Raw is given below:

Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Ricochet vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. 4 participants TBA

Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match: 6 participants TBA
