As seen in the Main Event of the 2023 Money in the Bank PLE from the United Kingdom, The Usos defeated Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa in a non-title tag team match also dubbed to be The Bloodline Civil War.
The finish of the match was interesting which saw The Usos superkick-ing Roman and Solo at the same time. As Solo was out, Jey ascended to the top rope and came off with the Frogsplash to secure the pin-fall win.
Thus, Roman Reigns officially suffered his first pinfall loss on TV after three and a half years. He was last pinned by Baron Corbin at the Tables, Ladders, and Chairs premium live event in December 2019.
In the past, Roman has lost in other tag matches since being pinned by Corbin in 2019, but he has never been the one to be pinned. Hence, we believe this pin-fall loss will have a massive impact on the WWE storyline, moving forward.
In more significance to the pin-fall loss for Roman, Jey was the man to pin him. Jey was also the first victim of Roman after he transitioned to the Tribal Chief in 2020 which also kicked off the formation of the Bloodline.
Interestingly, Jimmy Uso wanted to bury the hatchet with Roman after the match but Jey stopped him from doing so. If rumours are to be believed then Jimmy is to challenge Roman for his title at SummerSlam.
Speaking of Summerslam, two former besties from the women’s tag team division, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler are also likely to collide in a match at the PLE after what transpired at Money in the Bank.
Last night at the PLE from the United Kingdom, Liv Morgan, and Raquel Rodriguez defeated Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler (c) to win the Undisputed Women’s Tag Team Championship. The title change happened after Shayna turned on Ronda.
Midway through the match, Shayna choked out Ronda with the Kirifuda Clutch and left the ring. Rodriguez then planted Ronda with a powerbomb before Live pinned her with the Oblivion finisher to win the titles.
Ronda and Shayna have literally been besties for life. At one point in the UFC, they were part of the Four Horsewomen of MMA in the mid-2010s with Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke.
The pair won the vacant Women’s Tag Team Championships in late May by winning a Fatal-4-Way and then successfully unified the belts with the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships, two weeks ago on Smackdown.
