Soon after the press release came, it was further confirmed by WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels during a media call to hype up this weekend’s pay-per-view event, The Great American Bash 2023 which is yet another old-school event.
While plugging in Bash, the Heart Break Kidd also announced that WWE NXT No Mercy 2023 will air from the Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield, California on September 30. Interestingly, the event will take place on a Saturday just like a main roster PLE.
Tickets for the premium live event will go on sale from Friday, August 4 onward at 10 AM PT via www.axs.com. Exclusive pre-sale opportunities will be available beginning Wednesday, August 2 at 10 AM PT. Fans can visit https://www.wwe.com/nxtnomercy-presale for pre-sale opportunities.
WWE No Mercy will air, live on Peacock for the United States fans while for the rest of the world, this event will be available through the WWE Network platform. In India, Sony LIV and its exclusive OTT platform will be the broadcasting partner.
Also, there will be two premium live events for the WWE Universe in September. Already, the Payback PLE is scheduled to return in the first week of that month from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
No matches for the show have been announced but the reigning NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes, NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton, Roxanne Perez, former NXT Champion Bron Breakker, Wes Lee, and more are being promoted to appear.
Back in the Ruthless Aggression Era of the WWE, No Mercy used to be a regular event through the 2000s. Following 2008, it went into a hiatus before finding its way back to WWE TV as a Smackdown-exclusive event.
2017 was the last time that pay-per-view last aired as a Raw-exclusive show where the dream match between John Cena and Roman Reigns headlined. Also, Brock Lesnar was in action against another behemoth figure, Braun Strowman.
Before NXT presents No Mercy, Great American Bash is going to be the next immediate stop for WWE’s third brand. It appears that standalone premium live events under their banner will gradually increase. For the time being, WWE’s current PLE schedule is given below:
– WWE NXT Great American Bash 2023 (July 30 at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, Texas)
