During the June 6 episode of NXT, Bron Breakker laid out the challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship held by Seth Rollins after taking out Ilja Dragunov with a spear in a backstage segment.
Breakker, a former two-time NXT Champion, wanted a crack at Rollins since he’s done with the NXT Title and rather wants to prove that he’s the most intense superstar available on the third brand of the WWE.
Then on the latest episode of NXT, Breakker came out to the ring for a promo session and put over Seth Rollins for being “The Visionary.” Dragunov also came out to seek revenge against Breakker but he was held back by security.
After Ilja disappeared, Breakker again wanted a shot at Rollins and stated that he’d spear him just like Dragunov. Finally, Rollins appeared on the big screen in what appeared to be a pre-taped segment from his home.

Rollins wasted no time to give Breakker his demanded championship shot after which WWE made the match official for the World Heavyweight Championship. This will be the first time that one of the WWE’s world titles will be defended on NXT programming.
Next week’s episode will also mark Seth Rollins’ return to the NXT brand for a match after almost a decade. Back in 2012, he defeated Jinder Mahal in the finale of a tournament to become the inaugural NXT Champion.
After getting the main roster call-up as part of The Shield in that same year, Rollins competed against the then-WWE Champion CM Punk in a match on NXT in 2013 which was his final in-ring outing on the developmental brand.
At Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia, Seth Rollins won the World Heavyweight Championship by defeating AJ Styles in the finale of a 12-man tournament. On the June 5 episode of Raw, his first title defense went down against Damian Priest.
Rollins has also announced that he will throw an open challenge for the title on next week’s Raw. If he’s successful in that upcoming match on Raw then NXT will mark his overall third TV title defense during this reign.
That’s not all as Seth Rollins has also agreed to put the World Heavyweight Championship on the line against The Judgment Day leader Finn Balor at Money in the Bank on Saturday, July 1 in London, England.
