The Show Off hasn’t been seen on Monday nights for a while now, having last appeared on the programme back on June 6, but he certainly made an impact at the expense off Mr. Money In The Bank.
He made his presence felt during the main event as Theory teamed up with Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins to take on Riddle and the United States Champion Bobby Lashley.
The match itself was fantastic as you’d expect with the wealth of talent involved here, and all four men certainly pulled their weight as they put on a cracking show with the fans loving the action.
The All Mighty had been initially set for a US Title Open Challenge and hopefully we do get that at some point, but this main event was a fair trade.
At one point, Ziggler’s music hit and the former world champion came down in a sharp suit to watch the action from ringside, and he eventually made his presence felt when he pushed Theory’s feet off the ropes to stop him cheating.
This caused a distraction and left the rising star open to an RKO from Riddle which was all the Original Bro needed to get the win.
There was more to come though, with Ziggler seemingly cementing his babyface turn by laying out Theory with a superkick to bring the show to an intriguing and exciting close, as the fans gave the returning superstar the reaction he deserves.
Brock Lesnar destroys Alpha Academy, WWE airs another creepy vignette and Bianca Belair defends the Raw Women’s Title
The night kicked off with Brock Lesnar making his return to Raw months after losing to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38 back in April, and he received a typically warm welcomed from the fans before addressing their Last Man Standing Match at SummerSlam.
Paul Heyman interrupted the Beast Incarnate as the former associates got into a heated war of words, but Theory came out to hype up the idea of him cashing in his Money In The Bank briefcase later this month.
He was soon joined by Alpha Academy, who tried to attack Lesnar but got laid out in a ridiculous fun beat down which ended with him hitting the F-5 on Otis through the announce table.
Before the first match of the night, Damian Priest trashed Rey Mysterio and tried to convince his son Dominik to join Judgment Day, before Finn Balor beat Rey Mysterio in a fun clash between two veterans.
Becky Lynch was ringside to watch Bianca Belair defend her Raw Women’s Title against Carmella in a Money In The Bank rematch, and she demanded a shot against the winner at SummerSlam.
The EST of WWE worked well with Carmella here, delivering another entertaining bout which ended when Big Time Becks distracted Belair, meaning her rival lost back count out.
Still the champ, Belair hit the KOD on Mella to regain some momentum.
Miz TV featured Ciampa as the guest this week, but the A-Lister dominated the conversation as he focused on Logan Paul before AJ Styles hit the ring.
After the break, the Phenomenal One teamed with Ezekiel to battle Ciampa and Miz in a good, solid tag bout with the former NXT Champion getting disqualified for a relentless attack on AJ, who wasn’t the legal man.
Asuka teamed up with Alexa Bliss in a fun sprint as they beat Nikki A.S.H. and Doudrop.
Angelo Dawkins faced off with Jimmy Uso, but R-Truth interrupted proceedings offering to be a tag team counselor and even a referee for their SummerSlam match.
MVP and Omos hit the ring suggesting the Nigerian Giant as the official, and a brawl broke out leading to a six-man tag match.
This was a tonne of fun from start to finish, with Omos picking up the win and pinning Dawkins.
Elsewhere on the show, we got another creepy vignette, this time including references to John Cena, Mick Foley and Randy Orton – with all signs pointing to Edge being behind the videos.
WWE Raw airs Monday nights at 1am on BT Sport 1.
