WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H announced that a new World Heavyweight Championship is coming to the roster. During the Draft, it was decided that the belt will be exclusive to Raw and hence the championship hunt begins on May 8.
On this week’s Raw, two Triple Threat Matches will take place. The winners of these matches will compete later on the night in the main event of the show. The same process will follow on this week’s Smackdown to determine a winner.
The Raw Triple Threat Winner will then face the SmackDown winner in the final match at the Night Of Champions premium live event in Saudi Arabia on May 27 to crown the new World Heavyweight Champion.
As the process begins, tonight, WWE has revealed the 12 participants from Raw and Smackdown for this one-of-a-kind tournament. Interestingly, the below-given list of performers revealed WWE Hall of Famer Edge’s return as part of the tourney.

– Edge
– Rey Mysterio
– Finn Balor
– Bobby Lashley

Veteran wrestling journalist Sean Ross gave updates regarding WWE Raw’s creative plans for this week and claimed most of tonight’s episode will be consumed by the tournament. Seth Rollins is still the odds-on favorite to be the winner from Raw side.

After a few weeks’ hiatus, top Raw Superstar Becky Lynch could finally be back on board for tonight’s show to give back a response to the heel Trish Stratus who’s constantly been putting her on blast using social media.
BoozerRasslin, who often provides exclusive news updates, tweeted out saying that there’s a strong indication that Becky Lynch’s hiatus is likely coming to an end, and that “The Man will be available raw.”
Becky Lynch has been out of action as she was dealing with a minor injury. From a kayfabe perspective, Trish Stratus turned on her and sent her back to the sidelines with an attack during the April 10 episode of Raw to begin this fresh feud.
In more update from Sean Ross, the new tag team involving Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville is reportedly planned to function as a regular tag team on Raw as of now, per the creative plans.
A storyline angle will begin where they’ll act as the petitioning members of the roster and staff to go against the WWE management. Deville was tagged as Green’s tag partner after Carmella went into a maternity hiatus and missed WrestleMania 39.
