On the June 2 episode of SmackDown, WWE Hall of Famer Triple H was present to unveil the new Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and give it to the rightful owner Roman Reigns.
The entire Smackdown episode was dedicated to The Tribal Chief of the WWE as he reached 1,000 days as Universal Champion. He originally reached the landmark at Night of Champions, last Saturday night but the festivities were postponed to this week.
The unveiling of the new undisputed title wrapped those up in style on Smackdown and it also marked the end of the prestigious WWE Championship as well as the Universal Championship era.

Roman Reigns started his run with the Universal Championship on August 30 of 2020. On that night, he defeated The Fiend Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman in a Triple Threat Match at the Payback premium live event.
After holding the title for two and a half years, Roman then defeated the last WWE Champion Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 38 Night Two to unify the WWE Title with the Universal Title and become the undisputed champion in the WWE.
Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa also challenged Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship at Night of Champions but Jimmy Uso turned on Reigns by hitting him with two superkicks to cost those belts.
As a fallout, Roman and Jimmy had a confrontation on Smackdown after the new championship was unveiled. Interestingly, Solo Sikoa be-sided himself with Jimmy and Jey Uso in this segment to bring in a major swerve.

Jey thought they were in control when Solo took the double-turn and hit Jimmy with a Samoan Spike to go back to Roman Reigns. Jimmy was thus excluded from The Bloodline as mentioned by Smackdown commentator Michael Cole.
As The Bloodline continues to implore, WWE eyes hosting a tag team match with the lineup of – Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa vs. Jimmy and Jey Uso at Money in the Bank PLE on Saturday, July 1 at the O2 Arena in London, England.
