WWE Smackdown: The Bloodline implodes; New MITB qualifier set for next week

After betraying Roman at WWE Night of Champions, Jimmy Uso willingly put himself aside from The Bloodline, two weeks ago. This week, Paul Heyman got the task to make Jey Uso “fall in line” to avoid consequences.

The task continued during the main event of Smackdown where Roman himself tried to brainwash Jey to be on his side. Jimmy was also out, trying to bring Jey out of Roman’s grasp for good.

After some time, it appears that Jey was going to make allies with Roman as he was the reason behind the “Main Event Jey Uso” who headlined SmackDown, PPVs, and WrestleMania over the past couple of years.

After Jimmy was shown the door from The Bloodline, Jey super-kicked Roman amid huge cheers from the crowd. A stereo dual-superkick followed on Solo Sikoa followed by another stereo superkick on Roman.

With this move, The Usos are out of The Bloodline and Roman Reigns only has Solo by his side. Currently, the plan calls for Roman to team up with Solo against The Usos at Money in the Bank 2023 PLE.

In more news from Smackdown, a brand new qualifier for the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match has been announced even though the three spots from the blue brand have already been reserved.

Over on Smackdown, Zelina Vega defeated IYO SKY in a battle between two of the already announced MITB match participants. SKY’s buddy Bayley tried to help, but it backfired and Vega took advantage by pinning SKY.

Last week, Bayley also helped SKY to win her Money in the Bank qualifying match against Shotzi and the latter was out in a backstage segment to claim that without Bayley’s help, SKY would never make it to the ladder match.

Shotzi then challenged Bayley to a match with Bayley’s Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match spot on the line. IYO SKY accepted on Bayley’s behalf and Bayley was obviously not happy with this move.

Apart from Bayley and IYO SKY, Zelina Vega, Becky Lynch, and Zoey Stark qualified for the women’s MITB ladder match. One final fresh spot is available in the six-woman fray and that name will be decided from the Raw roster.

Apart from Bayley vs. Shotzi in big capacity, WWE and NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles will be unified on the June 23 Smackdown edition in a match with the lineup being – Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler vs. Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre.
