The tournament will feature eight Asian nations competing in a 50-over format.
Leading the India A side will be rising star Yash Dhull, who captained the Under-19 Indian team to victory in the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Dhull, who also made his first-class debut for the Delhi team in the 2021-22 Ranji Trophy season, will be a key player for the team.
Another notable inclusion in the squad is Rajvardhan Hangargekar, a promising all-rounder who was part of the Chennai Super Kings’ winning side in the IPL 2023. Left-arm pacer Akash Singh, also from the IPL-winning Chennai Super Kings team, is also part of the India A squad.
The squad consists of two wicket-keepers, namely Prabhsimran Singh and Dhruv Jurel, providing depth and options in that department.
India A has been placed in Group B, alongside Nepal, UAE A, and Pakistan A. Group A comprises Sri Lanka A, Bangladesh A, Afghanistan A, and Oman A. The top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals.
The first semi-final will feature the Group A table-toppers against the second-placed team from Group B, while the second semi-final will see the Group B leaders take on the second-placed team from Group A.
The semi-finals will be held on July 21, with the final scheduled for July 23.
