Offers at a glance:
Two of our students have recently received offers from prestigious universities. Yiu Ho Lam got accepted into the University of Cambridge in Natural Sciences and has expressed his ambition to remain in academia for conducting research. His goal is to become a professor at a university. “That way, I will be able to make an impact both on the large scale, with the research that I will do, and on a more local scale, by preparing and inspiring more students in natural science,” said Ho Lam.
Arianna Chan received an offer from The World Bachelor in Business (WBB), a highly selective programme jointly offered by the University of Southern California, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Bocconi University in Italy with only 45 students being selected worldwide each year. Arianna explained her motivation for choosing WBB, stating, “The diversity of the courses and opportunities is another major draw for me, as I wanted to be able to develop my soft and hard business skills. The curriculum is rich and diverse, with opportunities to learn three languages, as well as to develop a global perspective. In addition, the programme emphasises practical skills and hands-on learning, which are important to me.”
“As you close this chapter of your lives, remember that the future is full of endless possibilities. Embrace change, stay curious, and never stop learning,” said Mr Martin Scott, Education Director and Executive Principal of YCIS Hong Kong as he offered his genuine advice for our Class of 2023. “Believe in yourself and your abilities, and don’t be afraid to take risks. Success often comes from stepping outside of your comfort zone and taking on new challenges. Cultivate a strong sense of resilience and adaptability, as they will be essential in navigating the twists and turns of life. Learn from failures, embrace setbacks, and keep moving forward. Develop strong communication and interpersonal skills, as they will be vital in building relationships and achieving success in both your personal and professional life. Never stop pursuing your passions and interests. Find what motivates and inspires you, and let that drive you towards your goals. Remember to prioritise self-care and well-being. Taking care of your physical, mental and emotional health is essential in achieving long-term success and happiness.”
