Yellowstone’s Kelly Reilly addresses fans’ absence complaints

PaleyFest is an annual TV festival where fans from across the globe get to witness panels of some of their favourite stars from their most beloved shows.

Despite being initially scheduled to appear, Yellowstone’s Kelly Reilly, along with a number of her co-stars, failed to appear to answer burning questions about the show’s future.

After all, fans are desperate for answers amid reports of an ongoing feud between lead star Kevin Costner and showrunner Taylor Sheridan as well as a predicted summer return date to the Paramount Network being seemingly scrapped.

While the second part of season five is yet to even begin production, Reilly has been keeping herself busy with a number of other projects in the pipeline.

And one involves working alongside Succession star Brian Cox on the Paramount+ movie Little Wing.

Reilly took to Instagram this weekend to share a selfie with Cox as they took a break from filming where one fan was quick to ask her about the PaleyFest incident.

Reilly penned: “Working with this legend is no fun at all… @coxusa,” alongside a clipboard emoji and the hashtag “#littlewing”.

Replying to the selfie, a fan with the username @vintageposte asked: “Question: why didn’t you show up at Paley Fest?”

Reilly offered up an explanation as she answered: “I was filming in the UK at the time, and let them know in January I wouldn’t be able to attend.

“I was sorry to hear my name was still on the list of attendees, as it is unfair to our fans. Xx,” she added. (sic)

The Yellowstone star wasn’t the only scheduled cast member to appear as the likes of Costner, Cole Hauser, Luke Grimes, Wes Bentley, Kelsey Asbille and many others were also no-shows.

While there remains uncertainty about the harmony among the cast amid reports of Costner wanting to scale back his time on the show, a number of Reilly’s cast mates also replied to the snap with Cox to show their support for the new role.

Laramie star Hassie Harrison replied to the selfie: “LEGENDS!!!!” followed by a fire emoji.

While Governor Perry actor Wendy Moniz also weighed in: “Beautiful and fantastic,” followed by a love heart emoji.

Yellowstone fans may still be waiting for a confirmed return date for season five, but Hauser did shed some light back in March.

He told Fox that filming was set to begin in May for the second part of the season.

However, this could be thrown into doubt after behind-the-scenes snaps appeared to confirm production on Costner’s mammoth project Horizon has resumed.
