You can currently book cheap flights to New York from just £139

Budget airline PLAY has launched cheap flights to New York with fares from £139 each way from the UK – and it’s not the only US destination that’s on offer from the new airline

Brits looking to tick New York City off the bucket list can now snap up cheap flights to the Big Apple from £139 thanks to a new budget airline.

Icelandic airline PLAY, which launched last year, is now offering flights from £139 each way between London Stansted and New York Stewart International Airport.

The route will include a stop in Reykjavik where passengers can choose to either extend their trip with a visit to Iceland, or fly straight on to the US after a 1 hour 35 minute stop over in the Icelandic capital.

It’s not just New York which is on offer; PLAY also operates flights to Boston and Baltimore/Washington.

The New York flights will launch on June 10, but bookings have already opened on the PLAY website.

The £139 fares are actually a special deal that’s running until February 7. After that, normal fares will apply, but considering these start from £159 each way it’s still going to make for a budget-friendly option.
