The UK safari lodges at the West Midland Safari Park offer direct views of animals including giraffes, elephants and rhinos right from your room

West Midland Safari Park has opened bookings for its Giraffe Lodges

Bookings have opened for new UK safari lodges in 2022 where guests can enjoy views of giraffes without having to leave their bedrooms – and they’re going straight on our list of the best UK safari lodges for families.

We’re talking luxurious lodges with an open-plan living room, bedrooms and bathrooms, with floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the animals’ habitat in the West Midland Safari Park. (There are already other lodges open at the park, with views of elephants, cheetahs and red pandas).

There are even balconies on the first floor levels which we reckon will be a dreamy spot for watching the animals on sunnier days.

The Giraffe Lodges will be opening from April 2022, along with Rhino lodges offering views of the safari park’s white rhinos.

Guests who stay in the lodges will also receive breakfast, dinner, admission to the Park for two days and theme park admission during the summer season.

The short breaks start from £490 a night based on two guests staying and can be booked at safari-lodges.co.uk.

Ever since the first safari lodges opened their doors, they’ve proven a hit – in fact, the park reported that its bookings had sold out for 2021.

The Giraffe and Rhino lodges were first announced earlier this year, as part of a new phase for the attraction which also includes upgrades to the animals’ habitats so they can access both indoor and outdoor settings 24/7, as well as new pathways which allow day guests to walk up to see giraffes and elephants on foot.

At the time, Managing Director Chris Kelly said that the site was “thrilled” to have been granted planning for the next phase of the development, adding: This will see new habitats, housing and facilities being built for our giraffes and white rhinos, enabling our brilliant team of wildlife keepers to continue the high standard of care they provide for our animals.

“Alongside the new animal facilities, we will be installing eight new lodges, four of which will offer spectacular views of the white rhinos, with the other half bringing you face-to-face with our beautiful giraffes, from the second-storey balconies.”
