If you love ASOS and have a lot of weddings, parties or holidays on the horizon, listen up.
While we all know that the idea of needing to wear something new for those big occasions is very much an outdated concept, the desire to play with your aesthetic and try out a look you’ve not worn before – particularly, despite our claims to the contrary, when there are likely to be pictures taken – is often hard to resist.
Which is why the rental space is proving such a revolution right now, with specific platforms being frequently launched that offer all manner of fashion rental options.
Less often, the industry sees fashion brands themselves introduce a rental arm to their business, and one such label to have jumped on the trend this week is ASOS.
Teaming up with leading UK rental marketplace Hirestreet, the move marks the first time the high street giant has launched its own rental edit and comprises over 180 styles focused on women’s occasionwear dressing.
With pieces having been selected from ASOS’ super popular in-house brands ASOS Design, ASOS Edition and ASOS Luxe, the edit offers up endless options and includes Curve, Petite and Tall sizing options.
“In the UK in 2023, the average cost of attending a friend’s wedding is over £500,” explained Isabella West, CEO of Hirestreet. “That’s why ‘wedding guest’ is our most popular occasion category at this time of the year. We’ve loved working with the team at ASOS to curate this collection, and we strongly believe this will be our most popular brand collaboration to date.”
