A first edition hardback copy of Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone is expected to fetch up to $247,000 when it goes under the hammer in November.
The book will be sold alongside franchise star Daniel Radcliffe’s Hero Wand from the 2001 film, which is estimated to go for up to $49,400
Both items form part of an auction organised by film and TV memorabilia company Propstore, which will include treasures from numerous blockbuster franchises.
Over 1500 lots will be sold during the auction, due to take place from November 3-6, with the total value estimated in excess of $18.1 million.
Among the most highly valued items include actor Christopher Reeve’s complete costume from the Superman franchise (from 1978-1987), which is estimated at between $412,000 and $824,000.
The live auction will be held at Bafta 195 Piccadilly, in central London, as well as online or via telephone for global bidding.
Props from the James Bond, Marvel and DC franchises will also be available, as will items from other classic films including the Shawshank Redemption and Gladiator.
Earlier in the year one of the iconic blue and white gingham dresses worn by Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz went under the hammer.
The costume was rediscovered last year after being missing for decades and is one of only two existing dresses worn by Garland during the 1939 film that is still paired with a matching white blouse.
International auction house Bonhams believe the rare piece of costume history will sell for $US800,000 ($A1.09m) to $US1.2m based on another Dorothy dress worn by Garland that went for US$1.56 million in 2015.
However a judge blocked the dress’s sale, as well as that of a cream-colored organdy blouse also worn by Garland in the film.
