Zendaya just wore square nails – and now we want square nails

Zendaya is the latest fan of square nails – and has given the hard-edged nail shape a whole new look.

If anyone stands for cool, timeless and a kind of casual elegance, it’s Zendaya. We’re constantly enamoured by the star’s style – and she’s proven her influence once again at the Louis Vuitton show in Paris. There she sat in the front row, where she gave us a particularly good look at her nails – and we were immediately captivated by them.

At the Louis Vuitton Menswear Spring/Summer 2024 Fashion Show, Zendaya took her place on the star-studded front row alongside the likes of Beyoncé and Rihanna. The Euphoria star wore a sparkling sequinned suit for the occasion, which featured a summery T-shirt blouse as a bodice. She colour matched her nails to match the light blue sequins in the suit. But it was the nail shape that made us stop and take notice.

We can’t recall seeing Zendaya with square nails before. The 26-year-old usually wears her nails quite short, filed oval and all in all very natural. This time, however, she opted for nail extensions with gel, acrylic or adhesive nails, which have a square shape. However, unlike the classic square nails, Zendaya’s nails don’t look as hard and distinctive, which is because the edges have been slightly rounded. Love!

Angular nails with rounded corners? Looks familiar to us! Zendaya’s nail shape is very reminiscent of “Squoval Nails”, one of the biggest nail trends for 2023.

This is a mix of square and oval – as the name suggests. Zendaya is the best proof that square is not always square and that you can give every classic a new look with a twist or two.
