Zidane teased a potential return to football last summer, though remained coy on a destination as aside from Chelsea, Spurs and Juventus he has also been linked with the France national team job to replace Didier Deschamps. But the 54-year-old signed a new contract until 2026 with the federation earlier this year.
“Am I still able to contribute things as a coach? Yes, many things, or I think at least some!” Zidane told Telefoot in 2022. “I want to continue with that career because I still have the desire – it is my passion. I am 50 years old, fulfilled, I’m happy, that’s the most important thing.
“We worked a lot [at Real Madrid], we had incredible players, and a team that followed me. I was responsible for many things, but I had a great team that supported me. It just would not have been possible without everyone. I need to surround myself with people that I feel comfortable with. Without them, it could not work.”
