Nissan pulled the covers off the 2024 Sentra mid-June, showing off a more stylish exterior and more efficient powertrain, a commendable update to its lineup that will hit the market in late summer. Sporting a re-imagined front fascia, updated headlights, and new 16-inch alloy wheels, the changes properly refresh the compact sedan introduced in 2019.

Besides the aesthetics, the powertrain also sees notable enhancements, chiefly aimed at augmenting fuel efficiency. The Sentra gets a refined 149-horsepower and 146-lb-ft-of-torque 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine; and an updated Xtronic CVT, supplemented by an Idle Stop-Start system. Moreover, the base “S” and sporty “SR” models also offer a rare six-speed manual transmission as an alternative.

Inside the cabin, the base “S” Sentra prioritizes functionality and refinement. It features Zero Gravity front seats, satin chrome interior accents, and contrast seat stitching. Technologically speaking, the car boasts a standard 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the necessary Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Google Assistant Voice Recognition. The higher SV and SR trims further enhance connectivity and gain an 8-inch touchscreen.

In a step towards comprehensive safety, the 2024 Sentra comes standard with the Nissan Safety Shield 360 across all grades. This safety suite includes six advanced driver-assist systems such as Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection and Lane-Departure Warning, and more, further strengthening Nissan’s commitment to driver safety.

The SR grade provides a broad spectrum of features. Dark chrome exterior trim, red SR badges, and sport cloth with reddish-orange stitching accent are among the distinguishing traits. This grade further builds upon the SV’s feature set, including heated front seats, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, and remote engine start.

For those seeking a higher level of luxury, the SR Premium package provides options such as a power sliding moonroof, Prima-Tex-appointed seats, an eight-speaker Bose Premium Audio system, and Intelligent Around View Monitor.

With its updated range of trims and their assorted features, the 2024 Nissan Sentra should continue to be a popular choice among compact cars, offering a blend of performance, comfort, and safety.
