It’s arguably the most anticipated and surprising red carpet of all awards season, with guaranteed highs, lows and plenty of whoas!

And 2023’s 65th Grammys red carpet did not disappoint. With Doja Cat one of the first arrivals in head to toe black latex Versace halterneck gown with matching gloves and Bebe Rexha in barbiecore pink Moschino – also with matching gloves – the first ladies to tread the red threads at the Crypto.com arena in downtown Los Angeles. E!’s red carpet host, the luscious Laverne Cox looked sensational in a strapless Kim Kassas black tube embroidered with gold and bronze motifs.

Shania Twain – one of the presenters at tonight’s ceremony and a 5 time Grammy winner – rocked UK designer, Harris Tweed polka dot monochrome flared suit with the largest top hat any red carpet has ever seen. Apparently an homage to our very own, Harry Styles, who she cited as her style icon (and also a muse to Harris Tweed.)

Kellsea Ballerini -nominated for best country solo performance – wowed in a floor-length yellow cut out primrose yellow gown by Prabal Gurung.

Lizzo arrived in suitably Lizzo style – and undoubtedly the first ‘whoa’ of the night – a voluminous head to toe orange caped floral Dolce and Gabbana wonder – a literal bouquet of roses – and some serious rocks on her fingers. The custom made gown with silk bodice is covered in hand stitched flowers and Swarovski crystals. Lizzo is nominated for several awards tonight, including Album of the Year for Special, Best Pop Vocal Album for Special, Record of the Year for “About Damn Time,” Song of the Year” for “About Damn Time,” and Best Pop Solo Performance for “About Damn Time.” She’s also performing along with Bad Bunny, Harry Styles, Mary J. Blige, Brandi Carlile, Luke Combs, Steve Lacy, Kim Petras and Sam Smith.

Speaking of Sam Smith, they made a stunning entrance with an all red Valentino ensemble including Kim Petras and Drag Race star, Gottmik.

Anitta, like Doja Cat, rocked a gorgeous black Atelier Versace gown. Also in black – seems to be a goth girl theme going on – the gorgeous poet, Amanda Gorman in floaty chiffon Prada.

The second “Whoa ”of the red carpet undoubtedly went to Mr Harry Styles – in a custom made rainbow Harlequin Swarovski studded jumpsuit by new Parisian label, Egonlab.

Taylor Swift was suitably starry in her “Midnights” inspired, midnight blue twinkly two-piece by Roberto Cavalli.

And then there was Blac Chyna – who gave us serious Bjork circa 2001 Oscars red carpet vibes – when she came as a, erm, black swan.

Let the ceremony commence!
