OTT shows turned out to be quite helpful for the people during the peak COVID-19 lockdown of 2020. With cinema halls shut for an indefinite period, web shows helped the audience in meeting their need for entertainment. One such show that had a large contribution in achieving this was Amazon Prime Video’s crime drama Paatal Lok. The show completes three years today and it continues to be memorable.
3 years of Paatal Lok: Abhishek Banerjee celebrates Hathoda Tyagi’s love for dogs
Directed by Avinash Arun and Prosit Roy, Paatal Lok had a long list of cast that included Jaideep Ahlawat, Abhishek Banerjee, Neeraj Kabi, Ishwak Singh, Swastika Mukherjee, Niharika Dutt, Mairembam Ronaldo Singh, Gul Panag, Rajesh Sharma, Anindita Bose among others.
One of the things that stood out in Paatal Lok was the character of the ruthless bad guy Hathoda Tyagi, which was played by Abhishek Banerjee. Tyagi didn’t blink an eye to kill his targets. However, what set him apart was his immense love for animals, especially dogs. In fact, it was this love for dogs that stopped him from killing one of his targets after knowing that he too is a dog lover.
Celebrating three years of Paatal Lok and his character in it, Banerjee posted his picture from the show on his Instagram page as he enjoys the company of dogs and wrote, “Now this is swarglok. thankyou everyone for the non stop love ..hope it never stops .. 3 years of #paatallok.”
There have been various reports about the second season of Paatal Lok but there has been no official announcement on its status and release.
