Even though the Philadelphia 76ers are trying to find James Harden a new home, they haven’t ruled out another possibility.
Per ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the 76ers have yet to rule out him returning to the team next season.

A situation like this would only happen if the 76ers can’t find a team to take Harden.
Based on the latest reports, that looks to be unlikely since the Los Angeles Clippers and New York Knicks are expected to engage in trade talks with the 76ers.

Both of these teams, including others who will likely be interested, are trying to get better heading into the season.
Harden is still a good player, but some of his numbers have started to go down a bit as he’s gotten older. He’s coming off a 2022-23 season that saw him average 21 points, 10.7 assists, and six rebounds per game.
It’s the second-straight season in which he averaged 21 points, which is his lowest average since the 2012-13 season.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Harden in the weeks ahead.
