Tommy Fury handed KSI fight ultimatum as YouTuber outlines clause demand

KSI will fight Tommy Fury at the Love Island star’s proposed weight of 185lb providing that both fighters weigh in on the day of the fight.

The Misfits Boxing CEO has been in negotiations with Fury regarding a possible face-off in Manchester later this year. The prospect of that coming to pass were plunged into doubt, however, after KSI accused his prospective opponent of trying to change the weight of the fight from 180lb to 185lb.

Despite weighing in at around 180lb for all of his most recent bouts, KSI has now agreed to reach the 185lb mark as long as Fury agrees to the rehydration clause.

Reaching out to Fury directly on Twitter, KSI wrote: “Tommy I wanna KO your a** so badly that I’ll come up in weight and do 185lbs if you agree to do the weigh in on the morning of fight day. Nice fair fight. If not you will forever be known as Tommy Ducky.”

The rehydration clause is a rule that limits how much weight a competitor is allowed to put back on ahead of a fight, following the weigh-in.

KSI, whose real name is Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji, had the same clause included in his last fight against Joe Fournier. The duo were not allowed to go over 190lb for the second weigh-in that was held just hours before the fight itself.

KSI was initially adjudged to have won the fight, having knocked out Fournier, but due to making the crucial blow with an illegal elbow, the result was later overturned and declared a no-contest.

Fury, who is the half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, accused the Sideman co-founder of not being transparent over their fight negotiations. He tweeted: “Here we go again guys, KSI going on about how it’s my fault the contract hasn’t been signed yet. Just a few things to clear up, KSI has only just agreed to do drug testing for this fight and now he’s complaining about the weight.

“This fight is at 185lb, take it or leave it. I know you’re a midget and you’re worrying about the weight, but get some more food down you and you’ll get there.”

Having split from renowned promoter Frank Warren, Fury is now a free agent. He has also offered to face former opponent YouTuber Jake Paul in a rematch, if the fight against KSI cannot be agreed with October suggested as a possible contest date.
