India’s head coach Rahul Dravid paid glowing tribute to England‘s retiring fast bowler Stuart Broad, hailing him as an extraordinary cricketer. Dravid emphasized that Broad’s remarkable partnership with James Anderson will leave a lasting legacy in the world of cricket.

The 37-year-old Broad made the announcement of his retirement from international cricket on Saturday. His illustrious career will come to a close after the ongoing final Ashes Test against Australia at The Kia Oval in London.

“He (Broad) has been a terrific bowler…His partnership with Jimmy Anderson will always be remembered,” Dravid said after India lost to West Indies by six wickets in the second ODI in Barbados.

“Anderson and Broad, the whole decade they played for England. They have really put in some fantastic performances,” said the batting legend and former India captain.
“To take 600 wickets and to play the number of Test matches he has takes a special kind of cricketer,” he added.
Stuart Broad has been a pivotal member of the England Test side ever since he made his debut against Sri Lanka in December 2007. With an impressive record of 167 caps, he holds the distinction of being the second highest Test wicket-taker among pacers, following his partner James Anderson.

Remarkably, Broad had already secured 600 wickets before the start of the ongoing final Ashes Test.
Having started his cricket journey with Leicestershire in 2005 and later transitioning to Nottinghamshire, the right-arm seamer has also showcased his skills in limited-overs formats. He has participated in 121 ODIs and 56 T20 internationals, taking 178 and 65 wickets respectively.

In light of his incredible career, Rahul Dravid extended heartfelt congratulations to Stuart Broad on a truly wonderful cricketing journey.
“My best wishes to him and congratulations on a fantastic career. I hope he gets to finish it off in the best possible way he wants to,” he said.
