Sophie T-Law posted an image of her door, which had stains all over it.

She said: “How can I get rid of these water stains?? I’ve tried so many products”

Fortunately for her, the post was inundated with comments in minutes and other Mrs Hinch fans had many tips and tricks to offer.

“I used a glass scraper, the one you buy to scrape paint off of window glass, and it did the job! Since then we squeegee every time we use it and I clean it with normal bathroom cleaner weekly.

“It’s stayed completely clear of scale.”

Janet Hawkins recommended the classic lemon and baking soda combination. She commented: “Cut a lemon in half, sprinkle with bicarb and rub all over. Leave for a couple of hours then rinse and buff with a microfibre cloth.”

Tracy Clegg agreed. She said: “Cut lemon in half – dip cut end in baking soda and use small circular movements, dipping regularly in the baking soda as you go. Then spray with white vinegar and leave for five mins and rinse off.”

Julia Wager wrote: “Washing up liquid and white vinegar mixed together spray on glass, rub with a scourer and rinse with clear water.”

Marion Sullivan said: “Half fresh lemon rubbed over, rinse off and dry with microfibre cloth.”

Using a lemon is a great way to get rid of stains in your house and costs only 34p each in Tesco.

In Aldi, a pack of four lemons is only 54p, making them 13.5p each.
