MANILA, Philippines—Eli Ramos flashed a glimpse of his potential in Adamson’s dominant 108-63 win over Faith College Batangas on Wednesday in the Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup in San Juan.

Now holding a 5-4 win-loss record, the Soaring Falcons bolstered their quarterfinal hopes in dominant fashion thanks to significant contributions from Ramos.

Ramos posted eight points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals. He made both of his attempts from long range.

The 6-foot-3 guard is the younger brother of Gilas Pilipinas mainstay Dwight, whom Eli looks up to and attributes where he is now.

“My brother’s my role model. He taught me everything I know, I talk to him every day, we’re super close and I wouldn’t be here without him,” said Eli, who still has three playing years left with Adamson after serving his residency last season following his transfer from Ateneo.

“Everything I have is because of him. I’m really grateful to have a big brother like that and hopefully I can be as good as him one day but if not, I’m cool with that.”

The last 24 hours have been great so far for the Ramos brothers with Dwight being included in the 21-man Gilas Pilipinas pool for the Fiba World Cup.

“I’d love to see my brother play, especially in the World Cup. I can’t wait to watch him,” Eli said of Dwight, who also signed a contract extension with the Levanga Hokkaido in the B.League on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Emilio Aguinaldo College snagged a 79-71 victory over fellow NCAA squad Perpetual Help for its third win in eight outings.

JP Maguliano led the way with 22 points, 11 boards and six assists while Art Cosa also chipped in 14 points built on three triples.

Jerico Nunez and Art Roque both scored 14 for the Altas, who dropped to a 6-2 record.
