Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh starrer Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani opened on July 28 amid a bumper response. Critically and commercially, the film had an amazing opening. After collecting Rs 11.10 crores at the domestic box office on Friday, the film showed a tremendous growth over the weekend. And now, going with the graph, it is expected to have a string Monday as well.

RRKPK started its box office journey by collecting Rs 11.10 crores on Friday. Saturday saw a jump in collection as it earned Rs 16.05 crores. Sunday collection were even higher and brought the total collection closer to Rs 50 crores. On Sunday, the film collected Rs 18.75 crores, taking the first weekend total to Rs 45.90 crores.
With the word of mouth on the film being exemplary, RRKPK is expected to stay strong on Day 4. Monday is the crucial litmus test for any film which determines its lifetime earnings. But good advance bookings and the film’s craze make it clear that RRKPK will cross Rs 50 crores total by Day 4.

RRKPK didn’t have any other big film release with it simultaneously. Also, it has a clear run in front of it until August 11 when Gadar 2 and OMG 2 will hit the theatres. So, the film enjoys a 2 week clear window. It has received rave reviews from critics as well as audience which will help the film to grow. A lifetime of Rs 100 crores look very much possible.
RRKPK features Alia, Ranveer alongside veterans Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan. It tells the story of two lovers who belong to two drastically different cultures. But to give their love a chance, they decide to stay with each other’s families for 3 months. What ensues is a tale full of laughter, drama, romance and family values.
