The cost of pure electric cars:
Fully electric cars are currently more expensive to make, hence they carry a cost-premium. Most manufacturers add on £5,000 to £10,000 for the electric version of any model.

Government-backed incentives:
The Government’s grant for buyers of electric vehicles has been reduced every year since its introduction. From an initial high of £5,000 per car it now stands at just £1,500. Cars costing more than £32,000 are not eligible
