Aussie tennis champion Ash Barty has announced the birth of her first child.
Barty and her husband Garry Kissick revealed they are now parents to a “beautiful” boy named Hayden.
“Our beautiful boy️. Welcome to the world, Hayden,” they announced in a shared post on Instagram.
The cute post features Hayden swaddled in a blanket with dogs on it.
The three-time grand slam champion retired from the professional circuit in March 2022, in a decision that shocked the sporting world, especially because she had just won the Australian Open.
Barty, 26, announced her pregnancy in January. Her fans and friends were happy to share in the couple’s good news.
“Congrats,” Aussie football superstar Sam Kerr commented.
“Future Wimbledon champ? Congratulations,” quipped the official Wimbledon account.
Mindfulness guru Ben Crowe, who helped Barty during her tennis career, commented: “Another miracle.”
The heartwarming news comes two years after Barty’s Wimbledon title in 2021.
Once she retired, Barty revealed she began to lack motivation after claiming victory at the All England Club, which was on the top of her bucket list.
