Footage from the bloody scene was released by Washoe County Sheriffs Office deputies this week and gave a glimpse of the carnage first responders were met with when they arrived on the scene.

In the video, which was obtained by NBC affiliate KRNV, Renner’s nephew, Alex Fries, tries to outline how the accident unfolded after the Marvel star attempted to stop the snowplow from hitting him.

“He got out to tell me something and that’s when it started coming at me full force,” Fries says. “That’s when he tried to jump back in there. He slipped because these tracks, there’s no way to stand on it. He tried to jump on it, and it took him under.”

Another person at the scene said he thought Renner was “going to die.”

“It was horrible. I thought he was going to die, man,” they said [per the New York Post]. “I’m holding him and his colour is just going.”

Renner broke more than 30 bones and sustained a collapsed lung and pierced liver in the accident.

A transcript of the 911 call also revealed Renner’s grave injuries.

“Are there any obvious injuries?” the dispatcher asks, according to Today.

“Yeah, oh my God, yes,” the caller responds. “He says he’s got rib issues. His right side, his right chest and upper torso. His ribs look like they might be crushed. He’s got a head wound as well.”

In a report obtained by CNN, Renner’s PistenBully snow groomer “started sliding sideways” when he attempted to pull his nephew’s stuck truck out of snow.

“The PistenBully snow groomer began sliding causing Renner to exit the vehicle without setting the emergency brake,” the report concluded.

“Once he was off the PistenBully, he realized it was heading directly toward (his nephew),” the report read. “He feared the PistenBully was going to hit (his nephew), so he decided to attempt to stop or divert the PistenBully.”

Renner was “completely crushed under a large snowcat” when he was dragged under the PistenBully and had “extreme (difficulty) breathing,” with “the right side of his chest … collapsed (and his) upper torso crushed,” according to a 911 log.

“I got lucky in a lot of ways. I’m happy to be here,” Renner told late-night host Jimmy Kimmel earlier this month, who introduced the two-time Oscar nominee by saying he beat “Thanos, Loki and a 14,000-pound snowplow.”

In his conversation with Kimmel, Renner said rescuers “jammed some sort of emergency knife” into his chest.

“That’s when I was like, ‘I got to go to sleep,’” Renner said.

“If I was there on my own, that would have been a horrible way to die,” Renner told ABC’s Diane Sawyer in an interview earlier this month. “But I wasn’t alone. I was with my nephew. Sweet Alex. And the rest of the cavalry came.”
