Brad Pitt and Joe Kosinski Come Together for Upcoming F1 Racing Film

0

Brad Pitt is all set to star in an upcoming F1 racing film that has director Joe Kosinski at the helm. Apparently, the project also has the British celebrity racer Lewis Hamilton involved with it. This upcoming film will be next in the line of Hollywood films dealing with the sport, with successful examples like Ford v. Ferrari ahead of it.

Apparently, Brad Pitt and Joe Kosinski have long been trying to come together for a film that deals with F1 racing. Back in 2013, Pitt was supposed to be involved with a film called Go Like Hell, which also had Kosinski and Tom Cruise associated with it. However, the project was eventually made into something else and gave birth to the blockbuster hit Ford v. Ferrari, with a completely different director and actor combo: it starred Matt Damon and Christian Bale and was directed by James Mangold.

However, it looks like Pitt will be getting what he has since longed for in this upcoming project, and it has many from the F1 world excited as well, especially due to Lewis Hamilton’s direct involvement with it. The Emmy Award-winning automotive expert Paul Brian recently tweeted about this upcoming film, apparently praying, “Please, God, don’t let it be cheesy.”

Hamilton has previously produced Cars 2, Cars 3, and Zoolander 2, but he has only appeared in cameo roles so far. If his involvement with this upcoming film is what fans have been expecting, it might just be his first major feature film appearance. Apart from big names like Brad Pitt, Lewis Hamilton, and Joe Kosinski at the helm, the project also involves the veteran mega-producer Jerry Bruckheimer, the man behind the Bad Boys, Pirates of the Caribbean, and National Treasure franchises. Bruckheimer is also collaborating with Kosinski for the upcoming film Top Gun: Maverick. Screenwriter Ehren Kruger is also a part of this huge ensemble.

However, not much is currently known about what the film will revolve around. But it surely seems exciting, as it has already instigated a bidding war among major Hollywood banners and streaming platforms alike, for the rights to this upcoming project. According to sources, offers are being pitched from studios like Paramount, MGM, Sony, and Universal for the rights to this film. On the other hand, platforms like Netflix, Apple, and Amazon have joined in the race as well, which is fairly surprising as these platforms usually sit out these kinds of bidding wars.
