Jaylen Brown is about to break the bank with his next contract.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Celtics have agreed to a five-year, $304 million supermax extension with Brown.

Brown’s contract is the richest deal in NBA history. It’s fully guaranteed with no player option.

“Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown has agreed to a five-year, $304 million supermax contract extension with the franchise, per sources. This is the richest deal in NBA history, negotiated by agent Jason Glushon. Fully guaranteed, with a trade kicker. No player option,” Charania reported on Tuesday.

Brown had another exceptional season with the Celtics, averaging 26.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game.

Although the Celtics have been unable to win an NBA Finals with their current core, they’re right on the doorstep. Moving on from Brown would’ve significantly hurt their chances of contending for a title this season.

Now that Brown is under contract for the foreseeable future, the Celtics can focus on improving the supporting cast.

The Celtics will be one of the betting favorites in the Eastern Conference next season.
