Sir Brian captioned the post: “Despicable behaviour by a police officer. Unforgivable.
“What kind of a coward runs around the streets of Britain with a firearm killing innocent animals?”
Brian couldn’t hide his anger at the police carrying a gun, describing it as “a crime that needs a full prosecution”.
He also added that the police no longer had “a bastion of decency in Britain” claiming that “times have sadly changed.”
As a massive animal lover, his Instagram bio reveals that he is “committed to fighting for wild animals.”
The controversial incident occurred on Sunday, May 7 when footage emerged on social media of a man being tasered and his two dogs being shot dead.
Police arrived at the scene just after 5pm following reports of a woman being attacked in Commercial Road in east London by a dog.
The victim suffered a leg injury but did not require hospital treatment.
In a Facebook live post this week, dog owner Louie Turnbull, 46, shared: “This is really difficult for me and I am struggling with it.
“I have had them since they were puppies and to have them taken away like that right in front of my face shot, and I am covered in the dogs’ blood, it was just so disgusting.”
The woman’s husband spoke to the MailOnline about the incident, requesting full anonymity.
He shared that their rescue dog from Greece was attacked, not his wife.
He added: “My wife was traumatised by what happened to the dogs – we both were.
“We asked the police why they killed the dogs – they didn’t answer. They didn’t say why they did it.
“My wife didn’t call police. She was begging people around not to call police because she was concerned for the dogs and what would happen to them.”
Hundreds of activists held a candlelight vigil for the dogs, including Louie on Thursday evening.
Speaking in front of Scotland Yard, an Animal Rising spokesperson said: “Louie, Marshall and Millions’ human companion, was there and seemed incredibly surprised and grateful for the level of support and community that came out to show their love for the dogs and him.”
On Friday, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) announced that “appropriate” action was taken in an independent investigation.
Louie is set to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on June 6.
