“Women in their 50s and up are becoming much more inclined to celebrate their beauty publicly than they were willing to, even when compared to five years ago,” plastic surgeon Dr. Jerry Chidester told the Toronto Sun.
He explained that there’s a “changing public attitude towards cosmetic procedures” and with that comes “less overall stigmatization.”

Chidester touts less invasive procedures as one of the reasons women are feeling more comfortable and confident at getting cosmetic enhancements.
“I see fewer women trying to look 20 years younger and more women seeking to cosmetically complement their natural beauty.”
That freedom has “allowed women to be more open about their journey and subsequently share it publicly online. They embrace a body positivity culture and self-empowerment mindset.
