The pots for the Champions League group-stage draw have now been finalised following Wednesday night’s play-off ties.

Rangers will join Celtic in Pot 4 after they sealed a 1-0 victory over PSV Eindhoven in their play-off tie on Wednesday.

Champions League holders Real Madrid are in Pot 1, while last year’s beaten finalists Liverpool are in Pot 2 alongside Chelsea and Tottenham.

Premier League champions Manchester City are in Pot 1 alongside Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Ajax, Porto, AC Milan and last season’s Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt.

In Pot 2, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla are the three Spanish clubs, while RB Leipzig and Juventus are also included.

The Champions League draw will take place on Thursday at 17:00 BST in Istanbul.

The group stage runs over a nine-week period from September 6 to November 2 in order to accommodate the World Cup in Qatar.

The Champions League knockout ties will be later than usual, also because of the timing of World Cup.

The last-16 ties will be played over a month from February 14 to March 15. The quarter-final ties are in April and the semi-finals will be held in May.

The final is at Istanbul’s Ataturk Olympic Stadium on June 10 next year.
