Chicago weatherman’s “great day” after discovering touch screen

Sometimes the element of surprise is the best part of live television.

Consider weatherman Greg Dutra of ABC-7 Chicago who discovered he had a touch screen for the first time while he was doing his forecast using a weather map on Thursday morning reported the New York Post.

“I can do that? No way!” said a gobsmacked Dutra before turning to morning co-hosts Val Warner and Terrel Brown.

“Are you serious? Did you just discover that?” an off-camera Warner asks him.

Then Brown pops into frame and shows how to move the screen by touching it.

Before long, Dutra learns he can actually zoom in and tilt the weather map.

“It’s a great day,” proclaims a smiling and laughing Dutra, meaning both the Chicago weather and having a new work tool.

“I didn’t know. I’ve never touched it before!” he says, before moving the map again.

“Oh my God, you can tilt it? What is going on here?”

The clip has been retweeted over 6,000 times and liked over 35,500 times on his Twitter account, @Dutraweather, in less than a day.

“This wasn’t in the training manual!” Dutra tweeted.
