ABU DHABI, 24th January, 2022 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi Judicial Academy (ADJA) organised a simulation of court hearings on a set of cases, as part of the training programme designed for lawyers with a view to registering them on the list of professionals eligible to act before the Public Prosecution units and Courts of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD), in accordance with the best international standards and practices, aiming to prepare and qualify human cadres in the legal professions in accordance with a curriculum that ensures the maintenance of quality performance.
The ADJA explained that the training programme for the thirty-fourth batch of lawyers focuses on practical training and provides participants with the necessary skills to practice the profession and qualify them scientifically and practically, in line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, to continuously strive for the development of all the components and elements of the judiciary in order to achieve global leadership.
The practical training programmes allow the training participants to become closely acquainted with the various arts of criminal trial advocacy, and introduce them to the extent of the lawyer’s commitment to his or her duties, the rules of advocacy, its principles, conditions, techniques and method of conducting it, thus fulfilling many educational requirements and achieving complementarity between the theoretical study of law in universities, and the requirements of real-life handling in courts and prosecution offices, ADJA added.
The experience of the participants in the simulation of a realistic court hearing is a model applied in court proceedings. The participants assume the roles of the court panel, the public prosecution and the parties to the case, in addition to performing the tasks and skills of the lawyer, who submits his or her motions and delivers his or her pleadings as a representative of the parties to the dispute being heard before the competent court.
