COVID Omicron variant: BCCI should consult Centre regarding India’s tour to South Africa, says Thakur

Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur on Indian Cricket Team’s tour to South Africa on November 27 said that in a such situation, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) should consult from Government. This comes after World Health Organisation (WHO) on November 26 alarmed the siren among countries after a new B.1.1.529 (Omicron) variant of COVID-19 was classified in South Africa “In such situation, every board be it BCCI or any other, should consult and discuss with the Government of India. Government will take a decision when it gets the application from them (BCCI),” said the Union Sports Minister.
