Goldenvoice’s Cruel World Festival is returning to Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on Saturday, May 11 and is set to feature Duran Duran, Interpol, Blondie, Simple Minds, Placebo, Soft Cell, Adam Ant and more.
Hall of fame British new-wave band Duran Duran recently released its 16th studio record, “Danse Macabre,” in October. It features a collection of originals, covers, and reimagined classics that fans can expect to hear on stage.
Fans can now register for access to passes officially on sale starting at noon Friday, Dec. 8 at cruelworldfest.com. Payment plans are available for a limited time at only $49.99 down.
The lineup also includes Ministry, which will be playing hits off the records “With Sympathy” and “Twitch,” along with Gary Numan performing his debut solo album, “The Pleasure Principle.” The power group Dreamcar, featuring AFI’s Davey Havok and No Doubt’s Tony Kanal, Tom Dumont, and Adrian Young, will set the scene with its own twist of new-wave sounds.
Other acts include Tr/st, The Faint, Heaven 17, French Police, The Mission UK, The Stranglers, General Public, LOL Tolhurt x Budgie, Model/Actriz, The Alarm, Adult, The Motels, Nuovo Testamento, Harsh Symmetry, Body Of Light, Zanias, Patriarchy, Leathers and Balvanera.
Last year’s Cruel World event was abruptly postponed mid-day due to severe weather conditions. Performers Siouxsie, Iggy Pop, and Gary Numan, who were set to play, would return to the festival grounds on a later date to perform for fans.
