Damian Lillard and Patrick Beverley Exchange Words Online Following Lakers-Blazers Game

Damian Lillard and Patrick Beverley traded shots on Twitter Monday, after the pair went at each other on the court Sunday night.

Sunday’s game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Portland Trail Blazers saw Pat Bev get into it with Dame while the latter was shooting free throws. When Beverley checked out of the game late in the fourth quarter, with L.A. headed for a 121-112 win, the Lakers guard mocked Lillard’s “Dame Time” celebration, in which he taps on his wrist after making a clutch play. Ever the troll, Pat Bev tapped his wrist and acted like his watch was broken.

Beverley’s trolling continued after the game. When asked if his defense influenced Lillard’s poor shooting performance (Dame scored 24 points on 5-for-17 shooting), Pat Bev didn’t mince words.

“Hold up,” Beverley said, via Spectrum SportsNet. “If he would have cooked me, you would have said I couldn’t guard him. But he misses a couple shots and it’s a slow shooting night. Nah, just say I did a good job on Dame. It sound better.”

On Monday, the beef made its way to social media, as Dame took to Twitter to respond to a video of Beverley’s above quote. “Con man,” Lillard wrote. “Flip from above the rim.”

Less than an hour later, Pat Bev returned serve, tweeting, “He mad. Entertaining.”

Needless to say, the next time the Lakers and the Blazers meet will be appointment television.
