Damian Lillard Posts Cryptic 2-Word Tweet Amid Trade Request

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – NOVEMBER 29: Damian Lillard #0 of the Portland Trail Blazers motions on the court in the second half during a game against the Utah Jazz at Vivint Smart Home Arena on November 29, 2021 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The NBA world is waiting patiently to see where Damian Lillard will end up.

The longtime Portland Trail Blazers star requested a trade from the only franchise he’s played for during his career, and reports indicate that the only place he’s interested in going is Miami to play for the Heat.

For now, Lillard is still a Trail Blazer. Things move quickly in the NBA and that could change in an instant.

Lillard hasn’t spoken at length about his trade request or a desire to move on from Portland, but a short, cryptic tweet on Thursday evening had fans talking.

“I’m amazed,” Lillard tweeted on Thursday. Fans wondered what the tweet meant, and if it was an indication of a pending deal. That hasn’t happened yet, but Lillard added a bit more context in a reply to a fan a few minutes later.

Lillard said his amazement was “at how people could know so much and so little at the same time.”

The All-Star guard could be referring to things that have absolutely nothing to do with basketball, but given the various reports and pieces of information surrounding him over the last few days, it’s a pretty reasonable assumption that Lillard is referring to how his trade request has been covered.

We’ll see if a deal can be made within the next few days.
