Bronny James remains hospitalized as he recovers from the cardiac arrest he suffered during a USC men’s basketball workout on Monday.

Bronny, 18, is out of the ICU and in stable condition, but other details about his status are being kept close to the vest by the James family.

We do, however, have some news about Bronny’s condition in the immediate aftermath of his collapse, thanks to new reporting from the Los Angeles Times and Good Morning America.

According to ABC’s Mola Lenghi, via the LA Times, Bronny lost consciousness and was taken “Code 3, lights and sirens” to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center by ambulance.

USC medical and training personnel began performing CPR on Bronny before he was rushed to the hospital.

“LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes,” the James family said in a statement on Tuesday.

Bronny is an incoming freshman at USC, where he is part of the Trojans’ heralded 2023 recruiting class. He is also the second USC men’s basketball player to suffer cardiac arrest since last summer, after center Vince Iwuchukwu suffered one and was resuscitated during a workout on July 1, 2022.

USC has not publicly commented on Bronny’s situation, citing student privacy regulations.
