Dick and Angel break social media silence after Channel 4 axing

It’s been reported the company that produces the series raised concerns with Channel 4, who have since cut ties with the DIY experts.

The on-screen stars have since taken to their official Escape to the Chateau Instagram account just hours before the news emerged.

Sharing a video of their two children, son Arthur and daughter Dorothy, outside the chateau, the duo posted a message to promote their Spring Home favourites.

In view of their 327,000 followers, Dick and Angel penned: “Last weekend we went for a Spring walk around the grounds…it’s nature at its best, and there was something for everyone to be excited about! Simple and beautiful.

“To celebrate this, we’ve got up to 15 [per cent] off all of our Spring Home favourites until the 30th May that are ideal for making the most of the season.

“Head to the link in our bio to shop the collection, or visit ‘Filmed by the Strawbridges’ to watch our walk around the Chateau’s grounds.”

The couple signed off: “Have a Wonderful Wednesday! Love, Dick and Angel.”

The pair have not yet addressed Channel 4’s decision to part ways with them.

A spokesperson for Channel 4 told Express.co.uk: “Following a review we have taken the decision to not work with Dick and Angel on any new productions in the future.”

While the nature of the complaints hasn’t been divulged, Deadline reports that former colleagues alleged the Strawbridges “clashed with producers”.

A source told the publication: “There has been a deteriorating relationship between Two Rivers and Dick and Angel’s Chateau TV for various reasons and it all came to a head.”

Express.co.uk has contacted Dick and Angel’s representatives for a comment.
