Doubts remain over EU speed limiters with drivers uncertain of ‘visual and audio’ alerts

0

Drivers may be sent a flashing visual signal to point out when they are speeding, and if they continue going above the limit, an audio cue will be activated.

If both of these alerts are ignored, both visual and audio cues will be used after which both cues will time-out.

A fourth option available to manufacturers is a visual cue, such as a flashing light, which, if ignored, will see the pedal vibrate.

It is expected that if motorists ignore the combined signals, they will also eventually turn off.
